Tonight we had a Young Women Activity. I am the 1st Counselor in the Young Women Presidency in our congregation. I love it! Absolutely love it! The girls I am in charge of are the 14-15 year olds. It's a difficult time for them. They want to assert their independence, therefore unfortunatly not many of them join in the activities. I love our girls though and am grateful for the chance to be around them. I feel extremely youthful - not that I'm saying I'm old, I'm not! But tonight was a reminder of how young I am and how easy and fun it is to be a young woman. 2 of the girls and I played broom hockey with a younger brother joining me on my team. Here I am a 30-year old "leader" running around the gym with a broom in my hand sneaking the "puck" (chalkboard eraser) out from underneath a 12-year old's broom. This girl brought out the competitive spirit in me again and it felt FANTASTIC!! I thought I'd lost that part of me and to my delight and surprise it's still there. I was NOT going to let myself lose to two 12-year olds. And we didn't. We won 7 -4. :) I know I'm silly, but I really enjoyed myself. And it felt fabulous to know I can handle my own with a broom, my legs, my beet red face, and my hips! I even threw in a few basketball moves!! Go me! :) By the way, don't feel bad for the 12-year old. She's a soccer player and has the boniest hips I've ever felt!!

We have young leaders in our Young Womens too...me being one of them! We are always there for the most active of activities, infact a good part of the leadership in our YM/YW are our age! We usually out number the youth and are up for any challenge. Needless to say...I don't feel as old as I am, and I love it!

Hiya Andrea,

My comcast email stopped working when we stopped suscribing to them...so dumb. You can always email me at elizabeth.r.etter@gmail.com or blog comment from time to time. Hope all is well with you. I just got an email from Shantell for the annual 18th ward's mommy's group Halloween Party. Wish you could come and bring your boys and your yummy breadsticks. :)
